  • You Are Your Brother's Keeper: Whose career will you save today?

This one-day course is recommended for any sworn or civilian employee and will give students the tools they need to build an agency culture of excellence that supports employees while building accountability and employee retention.

  • Leading Change

Successful organizations and employees should seek continual improvement, but leaders and followers can all struggle to lead, manage, and cope with changes to the status quo. This course is designed to help all employees lead needed change in their agencies.

  • Conducting Ethical Autopsies - Reflective leadership and employee success

Agencies work diligently to hire and train them well. When we later lose those employees due to misconduct, what was the root cause? What role did the agency and leadership play in the demise of a career? This course will help students conduct the examinations needed to answer those questions and better serve their employees and the public.

  • Followership: Strategies for Creating Exceptional Followers

  • Transformational Leadership

This one-day course will help civilian and sworn police leaders have a greater impact on their employees and manage change by going beyond transactional leadership practices.

  • Creating a Culture of Excellence: One that Helps Your Agency Attract the Right Recruits, Keep the Right Team, and Promote the Right People

This one-day course will help Chiefs and their staff learn the skills to take their agency from good to great.

  • The Leader's Role in Creating and Maintaining an Ethical Culture

This one-day course is designed to show how setting clear ethical standards and expectations, along with a culture of accountability, can help agencies reduce or prevent the need for serious discipline and create a better, stronger organization.

  • Developing a Leadership Thought Process for Solving Personnel Issues

In this lesson, students are taught to use a leader thought process (LTP) model that will ensure that they are more deliberate in addressing performance issues with employees. Students are provided the tools they need to identify and address the real cause (root cause) for employees’ unacceptable behavior.

  • Servant Leadership

Good leaders naturally do good things and make their lives matter.  Servant leaders do great things.  They help others to make their lives mean something.  They do this by serving others.  They don’t tell people what to do.  In this radical approach to leadership, they ask their people, “What can I do for you? What can I do to help you succeed at your job?  What do you need from me?” This four-hour course is designed to help sworn and civilian leaders at all levels of your organization learn and practice the skills needed to become servant leaders.

  • Becoming a Credible, exemplary leader

  • The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Leaders

This lesson takes the seven habits discussed in the book and shows how law enforcement leaders can use them in their professional and personal lives.

  • Supervisory Field Training Program

Your new police officers receive four to six months of formalized training when they first go on patrol. How do you train your new sergeants?

This course is designed for mentor or FTO supervisors and provides both training and a supervisory training manual you can modify to your agency’s needs.

The Leadership Challenge: Four Characteristics and Five Practices of Credible Leaders

“Chief Covey is outstanding. His material is so on point with the audience and with the current climate within law enforcement as a profession as well as individual organizations. His portion needs to be two days or more. He is an expert with LPO and more of that information would be relevant for this course.”
